A professional thief has a rule not to steal from where he lives but he takes a job from Max (Marlan Brando) in the city where he lives because it can get his love interest (Angela Bassett) to live with him and put behind him his criminal ways. Another hotshot crook has been scoping the royal sceptre which they intend to take and finds there is heavy security around it. He is brought in because he can access the alarms inside. THE SCORE takes its time showing you the details the thieves employ and it makes the story more real and suspenseful. A kewl method to get the cobalt safe open is shown and it intrigued because I never have seen that technique before. Robert DeNiro stars as the brains behind this last score and appears every bit the professional here. [4.3 stars]
