One of the great films from the seventies, this one takes place in America during the 1930's where some con men try to pull one over on a mob boss who plays dirty cards. THE STING offers a superb story that keeps you guessing as well as throwing in some humor. Paul Newman and Robert Redford team up again to play the grifters. If you like betting on the horses this is the movie for you, but most of that element comes from a complicated set-up to steal the gangster's money. There is a kewl element in it that I find again and again in life and cinema, that is I root for the bad guy but the bad you "support" when compared to another evil is almost good, in other words, there are redeemable traits in some antagonists and their humanness is what you find yourself rooting for.
