A young girl is acting strangely and her mother soon suspects that she may be possessed. THE EXORCIST is chilling and many put it at the top (or near the top) of their list for best horror film. A priest (Max von Sydow) is seen at the beginning of the film excavating in Iraq where he finds a demonic-looking artifact. Later he is called in to help the young girl. This is the best part of the movie and the kewlest part as the room takes on scary proportions. I could watch this section of the film again and again: it is mesmerizing and makes up for the first part of the film where it develops characters. Unforgettable I say. [4.2 stars]
