A stunt driver (Ryan Gosling) does some dirty work as a getaway man on the side. He is enigmatic and his odd juxtaposition of gentleness and violence intrigues. He is kind to his neighbor but this involvement lands him at odds with some tough characters in the L.A. area creating a last-stand kind of scenario. DRIVE is strangely hypnotic and the opening car scene is really kewl not only for its action but we want to know more about the background, in fact I want to know more almost the whole time which is its greatness. [4.4 stars]
