Butch Cassidy And The Sundance Kid (1969)

Two robbers (Paul Newman and Robert Redford) are being sought by some bounty hunters (or so they believe) forcing them to adapt to a world which is being civilized. There are some great scenes nested in BUTCH CASSIDY AND THE SUNDANCE KID including an escape sequence (I won't say who is trying to escape) and what would the old West be without a gunfight.  We spend a lot of time watching the bad guys and we develop an affection for them for we see they are "just" trying to make a living and also that they are as human as we are which is evident by the body count Butch and Sundance amass during their "bad" exploits. One of your better screenplays and the kewl reaction Butch and Sundance have to their approaching captors is priceless fun. [4.5 stars]
