Dirty Harry (1971)

I felt lucky watching this tough-guy detective movie. Tough is not necessarily kewl but when it comes to the murderer in this film we cheer our "dirty" detective on to get past the bullshit created by politics and bureaucracy.  Loved the telephone routine the bad guy concocted to get the ransom money. This is the film that cemented Clint Eastwood as a star.  Another good villain here with the detective every bit his equal launches DIRTY HARRY into the culture's blood-stream. America likes individualists who don't care about paperwork because we are like that. Famous scene of the bank robber debating whether to reach for his gun. Find out if the punk was lucky. [4.5 stars]
