An attorney (Ben Affleck) appearing a bit too slick collides his car into the car of an insurance salesman (Samuel L. Jackson) appearing a bit too drinky. The lawyer jets away before they exchange information to go to a trial involving millions of dollars which he appears too eager to pocket for his firm. The salesman is late for his custody appearance and loses the children even though he has just finalized a deal to buy a house for them. His wife goes there and likes it. The wife of the slickster gives him a pep talk to take the money from the case despite the questionable legality involved in a millionaire signing power-of-attorney rights over to said firm. I like how he has his dubious ethics mirrored back at him. The salesman loosens the lawyer's car tires creating a near-death crash. He responds by hacking into the car vandal's bank accounts and ruining his credit. The attorney wants his court papers but due to his leaving the alcoholic stranded he doesn't get them. He reflects on what he has been doing and now tries to atone for his inconsiderateness. There is a chance for the insurance man to get back with his children. His therapist has kewl line telling him he is not really addicted to alcohol but to chaos. CHANGING LANES always has an angle to look at life and society and delivers us a pleasing snack of humanity.
