A ship in the Mediterranean spots a body floating in the sea. They haul him in finding two bullets in his back and that he has amnesia. We know this is Jason Bourne among his other identities. He (Matt Damon) goes to Zurich and finds a box with money and fake ID's along with a gun. He slowly has memories come back to him and a woman Marie helps him socialize into the world. The plot thickens as we see CIA agents try to kill him because he is getting too public and an exiled dictator lived through Bourne's assassination attempt. The amnesic Bourne can't believe it's he who has done these things. I begin to root for him as THE BOURNE IDENTITY unfolds. He was programmed and no longer wishes to work for them. His relationship with Marie makes him normal and the actions of America's intelligence make them the villain here. The action is always kept moving and the scenes are done well making this the American James Bond 007 [4.3 stars]
