Three interconnecting stories are told with dogs being involved. Two brothers want the same girl, a model and her man try to cope with the effects of her being in a car crash, and a wino tries to love his daughter from afar. The main characters are all at the scene of the model's car crash which opens AMORES PERROS. It is a foreign language film so subtitles can be a distraction. It is really kewl how these people are all weaving in and out of each other's lives but are unaware of the impact their actions and decisions have, this was what left me afterwards, that is, how a small thing ends up gathering more and more snow until it becomes a big thing, a snowball. The violence is not so much shown as inferred and I found it hard to watch at times but this could be a good thing since reality is not something we should shun. [4.5 stars]
