Good Will Hunting (1997)

Touching story of a bright janitor who has not yet overcome his doubts and his rough-neck upbringing to find his place in life. GOOD WILL HUNTING had me in tears and the talk in the park was one of the kewlest in cinema that I can recall.  Robin Williams plays a professor who counsels Will (the janitor played by Matt Damon). He believes in Will making Will believe in himself.  There are many moments of fine writing in this film which just lifts you up and compels your involvement in their lives, their loves, their jobs, their relationships. This blog can be fairly accused of neglecting these kinds of movies but this one makes it in because it is so real that any sappiness and predictability (of which there is a healthy dose) can be overlooked.
