Riveting re-telling of actual events of U.S. military in Somalia during the Clinton administration. Violent warlord must be stopped because of the country's disorder and starvation but operational snags keep forces delayed stirring up a hornet's nest of city occupants (plus militia) against the "invading" forces. Graphic and intense, BLACK HAWK DOWN goes over the mission in minute detail making you virtually part of the team, Rangers and Delta force. I thought the closeupness to the action (explosions and the falling debris) was kewl as the cinematography really stood out making me appreciate what soldiers experience and how fatiguing battlefire and constant bombardment can really be.
