Baby Driver (2017)

Heist film focussing screen time on a kid who's probably 18 but happens to be an excellent driver. He wears shades to cover a scar. His scar is really a lost mother but we don't get into that til later. We see a bank job and the young driver save the day from all the cop cars, really good action by the way. BABY DRIVER doesn't get into depth why they choose this life of crime but we learn this kid is held accountable to the mastermind of the jobs, namely Doc (Kevin Spacey) who is something of a mob man. He gives the rundown of how it's sposed to go and the kid wears headphones listening to music. His mother was a singer and she died in a car crash. This might be why he is attracted to a cute waitress who sings from time to time. They are becoming tight and she is dragged into his criminal activity without Baby's consent and he is determined to get out of driving and take his money and go elsewhere. A big chase goes on to nab the baby driver but one character survives like Superman and I couldn't stand the fact he kept popping up. The things cars do in this flick is kewl but sometimes unrealistic though the ending was realistic and bank robbers go where they go in real life. [4.3 stars]
