Good Night, And Good Luck (2005)

Shot in black and white, GOOD NIGHT, AND GOOD LUCK examines  the controversy created by Senator McCarthy in the 50's and what the scare of the Red menace is doing to society. It is taut and it draws you in during silence needing not to attract your attention with bombs and racing cars, in fact there is no violence in this film at all. It wants to challenge your mind and your values so it separates itself from most of the other fare offered to the cinema community and it is a risk that pays off. I found the parenthetic speech between Edward Murrow and his producer (George Clooney) kewl. The subtlety of tacit communication is brought out here in relief.  Engaging and refreshing to revisit this topic again.
